Hi, I'm Susan Eisner, MPH, CASAC. I'm the President of my company, Visionary Health Solutions LLC. I’m a professional speaker/trainer and am also an executive and private coach. My company specializes in Wellness and Self-Care – including Mindfulness and Stress Management, and Personal Development, and provides seminars and coaching – including Havening – in these areas.
I got hints early on that I was destined to work with people on a psychological – emotional level. In college – at age 17 – an unfamiliar student came to my dorm room and said, “Are you Susan? I heard you’re good to talk to. I have something I’d like to discuss. Would that be okay?” I was rather stunned – and then I invited her in! In my counselling course in graduate school – at about age 21 – several classmates asked me if I was a professional counselor. At age 21? No! I just got out of college, for goodness sake!
What cinched it for me was a graduate school Stress Management course. Each week we’d sprawl out on red blankets on the floor and practice meditation and relaxation techniques. I was so relaxed I could barely drive home. That class was a life changing experience. It led me to doing and teaching this work.
My professional mission is to help people get physically and emotionally well by helping them get to the bottom of sometimes life-long issues and “internal stuck points” that prevent them from doing things they know they should do for themselves so they can move forward in their lives, but don’t do. In addition to Havening – an AMAZING and sometimes fast-acting technique, I use little used elsewhere, unique cutting-edge guided imagery and introspection techniques in my seminars and coaching sessions I learned as a Journey practitioner. This makes me very different from other speakers and coaches.
How has Havening helped me? One session on me enabled me to throw out tons of paper in my home and office and empty out complete file cabinet drawers. How have I helped my clients with Havening? I helped several women to de-clutter, a woman to greatly improve her marriage, a man to ditch his cell phone and spend more time with his kids and wife, a woman make a monumentous decision to detach from a failing group she worked with and significantly expand her own business, several people to get over their fears of speaking up to bosses and to audiences, a woman to get through a colonoscopy she was dreading, a woman to give up sweets – and chocolates (which she could never do) – for several weeks and was amazed that they didn’t even call to her, and many others.
I’m a firm believer in the mind-body connection. Commonly, pain or an illness begins at the time of, or is connected to a trauma or stressful situation. Havening and other techniques I use can help with this by identifying that sometimes buried event and working to release its effect on a client. One physician client told me, "I had no idea my physical pain was so connected to that problem in my life. The pain has been practically gone now for a month."
What else have I done in my career? I have decades of experience – including 10 years with the Medical Society of the State of New York – individually coaching and speaking to groups of health and mental health professionals: doctors, nurses, social workers, addiction counselors and case managers, and to other professional groups and employees of companies, and to the lay public. I’ve done THOUSANDS of seminars on topics such as Mindfullness; Meditation and Relaxation Techniques; Stress Management; Counselor Wellness; Anger Management; Addiction and Compulsive Behaviors; Impaired Professionals; Compassionate, Non-Violent Communication Skills; Managing Fatigue; Team Building, and many more.
I LOVE presenting and am known for my sense of humor, and for being direct but down-to-earth, and getting people to comfortably discuss difficult topics they rarely discuss elsewhere. A doctor said, “Wow, I never shared that about myself anywhere else. It was great!” Another wrote after a Communication Skills class with doctors and nurses in which a real-life departmental problem was resolved, “The best thing about this was just having the issues on the table with a lot of difficult people present. It was a very non-threatening way to broach issues.” And a physician wrote, “I’m really glad I attended this. You should do this on PBS or Oprah!”
I’ve spent my life studying and working in the health field. My degrees and certifications include:
